Giridih: Late on Saturday night, a herd of nine elephants reached Khutargurho hamlet in Khuddisar Panchayat of Dumri Block of Giridih. The home of Mohan Yadav in the hamlet was assaulted by this herd. Satyam Yadav, his 10-year-old son, was asleep inside when an elephant broke into the home and tossed him by wrapping it in its trunk.

The locals managed to scare the elephants away by setting fire to something and creating noise. There is treatment for Satyam. We should be thankful that Satyam was not crushed when the elephant lifted him up and hurled him. A negative event would have occurred otherwise.
