Earlier on Thursday night, an angry crowd lit fire to RK Ranjan Singh's home in Kongba, Imphal, where he serves as Union Minister about State for External Affairs. The issue has been disclosed by the Manipur administration.

In this incident, a crowd set fire to RK Ranjan Singh's home in Kongba, Imphal, late one Thursday night. Singh is the Union Minister of State for the Ministry of External Affairs. The issue has been disclosed by the Manipur administration. 


The Minister of State for External Affairs stated, "I am currently in Kerala for official business," in a conversation with the news organisation ANI following the exposure of this occurrence. Thankfully, no one was hurt last night at my Imphal home. My home's first and ground floors were damaged by the miscreants' petrol bombs, which they brought.


In addition, he added that it is quite depressing to witness what is occurring in my own state. I'll keep making the same plea for peace. These acts of violence are totally inhumane. Around 10:00 pm, the event happened in the Konga Nandibam Lekai neighbourhood. When they arrived, security personnel and firefighters put out the fire. 


Damage was done to the residence and a few parked cars. The fact that nobody was hurt in this occurrence is a source of relief. Although a Union Minister's home had also been targeted before this.


The crowd had stormed his home earlier on May 23. By firing into the air, the security personnel in the area were able to scatter the criminals. Since May 3, conflicts between ethnic groups between the Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur have resulted in 115 fatalities and over 300 injuries.


On Wednesday, unidentified criminals also set fire to a minister's official mansion in the N. Biren Singh administration of Manipur. BJP MLA from Kangpokpi Nemcha Kipgen serves as the state's minister of industries. She is the sole female cabinet member for Manipur. While BJP MLA Vungjagin Valte was hurt on May 4 in an Imphal mob attack. The MLA is receiving treatment in Delhi at the moment.
