Manipur Violence Updates: In the past month, security personnel in Manipur have seized 200 bombs, 896 weapons, and 11,763 stolen bullets. In the riot-torn state, at least 500,000 bullets of ammunition and about 3,500 weapons, including grenades and mortars, have been taken. People began returning stolen guns after Union Home Minister Amit Shah made an appeal. The Manipur government was confident in its ability to recover the majority of the stolen weaponry. the large-scale rowdy mob that followed them.

Kuldeep Singh, the state government's security advisor, provided details regarding this, noting that a search operation was undertaken to find the stolen guns around a week after the state's violent skirmishes between the two communities began last month. The total number of stolen guns in the state is not, however, known in any official sense. But according to prior statements made by officials, the riot-torn state had lost at least 500,000 rounds of ammunition and around 3,500 weapons, including grenades and mortars.


'Hindustan Times' reported that after Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a plea on June 1, locals began returning the stolen guns approximately a week ago. who spent four days in the dangerous region after last month's violence to advance efforts to lower tensions and mediate a peace agreement between the warring parties. According to officials, 144 firearms were found between that time and June 8 while 750 were found prior to Shah's arrival. Senior Manipur government officials expressed confidence in their ability to recover the majority of the stolen guns. the large-scale rowdy mob that followed them.

Significantly, ethnic strife has been present in this northeastern state since May 3, mostly between the Meitei and Kuki groups. The violence has already resulted in at least 105 fatalities, over 300 injuries, and close to 40,000 displaced persons.
