35 Accused in Post-Godhra Riot Case Cleared by Court: The Gujarati Panchmahal Sessions Tribunal has cleared 35 Accused in the 2002 Godhra city Riot Case. In its ruling, the court stated that some members of the Hindu community were implicated as a result of political and media pressure. After 20 years, a decision has been reached in this case.

Gandhinagar. All 35 defendants were exonerated by a court in Halol Insulation town, Gujarat's Panchmahal district, in four distinct instances relating to the 2002 post-Godhra train fire tragedy. Three murders occurred in these four cases. On June 12, Associate Sessions Judge Harsh Trivedi delivered his decision, which was made public on June 15.

The court chastised the 'pseudo-secular media and politicians' for saying the riots were well-planned. After rioting and assault spilled on the February 28, 2002, in the vicinity of the Kalol bus stop and the Derol train station in the Derol village, 35 persons were charged with murder and rioting. Some Sabarmati train was burned out at Godhra the day before.

The prosecution said that three people were slain with dangerous weapons and their bodies were set afire in order to destroy evidence, but the prosecution was unable to present any evidence to support this claim, according to the court. In these cases, 52 people were accused. During the trial's duration, 17 of them passed away. More than 20 years were spent on this hearing. Case documents state that the police were told about the three missing people while they were visiting the relief camp. After the disturbances in the region, these aid camps were established.

Hindu and Muslim riots (also known as Post-Godhra Riots) are said to have broken out in Kalol town and two other locations. The bodies of each of them missing members of the minority group were discovered a few days later. All 52 suspects who were being held on rioting, unlawful assembly, and murder charges were taken into custody. He was taken to the sub-prisons in Godhra, Halol, and Kalol. He was later given bail and released. During the hearing, 130 witnesses in total were cross-examined.

The court remarked that none of the rioting allegations against any of the defendants could be proven, and the prosecution was unable to seize the tools of the crime. "In cases of communal riots, the police typically prosecute members of both communities," the court stated. However, in certain situations, the court will decide which side is correct. The court further criticised the "pseudo-secular media and politicians" for their amazement at the carnage in Godhra and for pressing salt in the injuries of the aggrieved people." In addition, the Godhra train fire event occurred on February 27, 2022.
