Mumbai: The clanging of the Azaan during the Friday school prayer at Kapol International School in Kandivali (West) in Mumbai has caused a commotion. Along with the BJP's Mumbai chapter, the student's parents demonstrated in front of the school.


Yogesh Sagar, a local BJP MLA, also made it outside the school and joined the parents who were protesting. In this instance, the instructor who led the prayer has taken the fall. Yogesh Sagar claims that the teacher was saved by the school. According to the police, the teacher has been suspended and a case has been filed.


'Today a complaint took place in Kandivali that 'Azaan' had been played during the early morning prayer in a school,' DCP Ajay Kumar Bansal stated. The allegation has been received by the police, and an investigation has begun. The situation will be looked into from all possible aspects. We'll do everything we can to help. In Maharashtra, playing Azaan on the speaker has already generated political controversy. Raj Thackeray, the leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), had a campaign against Azaan started last year on loudspeakers in Maharashtra. The MNS leader had threatened to have his party members play Hanuman Chalisa outside mosques if the loudspeakers were left in place.
