Karnataka politics have become more contentious due to the hijab issue. The Karnataka government has made it plain that it runs the government through the law rather than through petitions. Also informed that wearing a hijab within testing facilities is prohibited.

A recent request for an urgent hearing on the hijab issue was made to the Supreme Court. Yet the court had turned down a quick hearing. The court had stated at the time that it would form a bench for the hearing following the Holi vacation.

Hijab is not permitted in the exam room.

The Karnataka Education Minister BC Nagesh reportedly told the news agency ANI that CCTV cameras had been put in the testing facilities. After receiving the signatures of three pupils, each cover will only be opened in class. There is no use of electronic devices allowed in the assessment space. You can take a seat in the hall 15 minutes before the scheduled time after passing through security.

The Supreme Court is currently deliberating the Hijab case.

The appeal to appear in the exam while wearing a hijab had been denied an urgent hearing by the Supreme Court. The court had stated that a bench would be assembled for the case after Holi. In fact, the petitioner had requested an immediate hearing and had brought up the exam, arguing that female students should be permitted to take the test while wearing a headscarf.
