On Monday, the Gujarat High Court requested information regarding the status of a FIR filed by a doctor's son in the Gir Somnath district alleging assistance in suicide, notwithstanding assurances from the police.

BJP Lok Sabha MP Rajesh Chudasama and his father are purportedly mentioned in an alleged suicide note that was found with Dr. Atul Chaga after his death on February 12 at his home in Veraval town. According to Rajesh Kanani, lawyer for the petitioner and the deceased, a division bench comprising Justices NV Anjaria and Niral Mehta inquired about the status of the FIR from the concerned public prosecutor, who stated he had no knowledge and will find out and notify the court.
