In connection with the alleged money laundering investigation involving Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family, the Enforcement Directorate is searching more than 15 places.

In connection with the land-for-job case, Tejashwi Yadav's Delhi residence was searched, and the CBI interrogated his parents, former chief ministers of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, for days on end. In connection with an alleged money laundering investigation involving Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family, the Enforcement Directorate is conducting searches at more than 15 different sites.

The searches also included locations belonging to Mr. Yadav's daughters in Patna, Phulwarisharif, Ranchi, Delhi-NCR, and Abu Dojana, a former RJD MLA, in Bombay.

Former Federal Railway Minister Lalu Yadav was questioned by the CBI on March 7 for five hours at his daughter Misa Bharti's Pandara Road residence in Delhi, where he is currently recuperating after kidney transplant surgery. The investigative organisation had questioned Rabri Devi at her Patna home the day before.

The CBI case, in which the Yadav couple and their daughters Misa and Hima have been identified, is based on claims that Mr. Yadav and members of his family accepted low-paying employment while he served as Union Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009. though the land was brought.

The May 2022 FIR, which identifies 12 persons, includes the seasoned politician, his wife, and their daughters in addition to others who allegedly received jobs in exchange for land. Bhola Yadav, Mr. Yadav's assistant and a former Officer on Special Duty (OSD), was detained by the CBI in connection with the case in July of last year.

16 persons are accused by the CBI of criminal conspiracy and violating the Prevention of Corruption Act. Everyone has been given a court date of March 15

Opposition parties have accused the Center of abusing central agencies to settle political scores at the time of the searches.

Send in a remark This week, eight opposition parties sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing the BJP of misusing federal institutions for political gain. Tejashwi Yadav also signed the document. Lalu Yadav was mentioned in the letter as one of the opposition figures the government agencies were after. In doing so, central authorities "frequently raised suspicions that they were behaving as extended wings of the ruling regime," the report stated.
