There is demand to increase the minimum pension that employees in the salaried class must receive under the Employees Provident Fund (EPS). EPS-95 With 15 days' notice, Rashtriya Sangharsh Samiti raised the minimum monthly pension from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 7500.

If the demand is not met, a nationwide agitation will be carried out, according to the notice issued by the committee. Workers' Provident Fund Organization, the organisation in charge of managing retirement funds, runs the Employees' Pension Scheme-1995, or EPS-95 (EPFO). Beneficiaries of this include more than 6 crore shareholders and 75 lakh pensioners.

There aren't many medical facilities for pensioners.

In a letter to Union Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav, the Sangharsh Samiti complained that the pension amount for EPS-95 seniors is incredibly inadequate. In additional to this, there aren't much medical facilities. The mortality rate for pensioners is increasing as a result.


The letter further warned that if the increase in this pension amount was not announced within 15 days, there would be a national movement. This has led to advice to quit utilising the roads and railroads and to take measures like fasting till one dies.

The committee has proposed raising the minimum pension from Rs 1,000 to Rs 7,500 with regular announcements of cost-of-living adjustments. In accordance with the Supreme Court's orders from October 4 and November 4, 2022, the committee has also requested payment of pension based on actual wage.
