Bhajanpura, Delhi, evacuation building collapses; no casualties are recorded
On Wednesday afternoon, a three-story building in the nation's capital's Bhajanpura neighbourhood fell. No casualties or injuries were recorded in the event, according to fire officials, because the structure was evacuated after it was deemed "hazardous" 12 days prior.
According to police, the fire department was notified at 3:05 PM and arrived on the scene right away. SHOs Jaffrabad and Bhajanpura arrived at the location. It had been cordoned off. The rescue effort was launched as soon as BSES and the Fire Brigade arrived on the scene. He claimed that the cleanup effort was ongoing.
The building collapses in a video posted by ANI as people can be heard shouting.
DCP Tirkey claims that the 20-year-old structure was constructed on a 25 square yard property.
Earlier on March 1, a fire caused a four-story building on Roshanara Road in North Delhi to collapse. During the rescue effort, three firefighters received minor injuries, while at least 50 others were unharmed.
"We dispatched 18 fire engines to the scene right away. The ground floor was affected by the fire that originated in the basement. As it continued to grow, we became concerned that it may completely consume the structure and nearby homes (in crowded neighbourhoods), so we sent nine more tenders, according to Delhi Fire Services (DFS) chief Chief Atul Garg.
According to DFS, a short circuit in the basement caused the fire to start.
