Twenty minutes prior to the arrival of the target station, passengers who are using this service will receive an SMS and a reminder call from the railroad side. But, one thing that you all need to remember is that this service was created for long-distance trains. Travelers can use the 139 number enquiry system to request an alert facility.

How much will it cost?

For this destination alert function, calls from metro areas would be paid at a cost of Rs 1.20 per minute. In addition, the tariff for non-metro cities is set at Rs 2 per minute. Moreover, SMS would cost Rs 3 per message. Under this scenario, a wake-up call will be delivered to the phone 20 minutes before to arriving at the last stop. This facility is currently open from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. by IRCTC.
