Assume that an employee's base pay is Rs. 18,000 per month.

• Monthly Dearness Allowance at the 38% rate in effect today is equal to 18000 x 38/100 = 6,840.

• Annual Dearness Allowance multiplied by 12 at the current 38% rate equals 82,080: 6,840

• Monthly Dearness Allowance (DA): 18000 x 42/100 = 7560 after DA increase

• Yearly DA following DA growth: 7560 x 12 = 90,720
