'PM doesn't care': Rahul Gandhi calls Budget 2023 'Mitra Kaal'

After the release of the Union Budget 2023, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the budget has no plan to deal with inflation, inequality, job loss etc. He said the budget proves that the Modi government lacks a road map to shape India's future.

Taking a jibe at the first budget of Amrit Kaal, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said that the 'Mitra Kaal' budget of the Modi government does not have a vision to create jobs. Moreover, it fails to come up with a plan to tackle inflation and also proves that the Center has no roadmap to build India's future.

In "Mitra Kaal" budget: No vision to create jobs. No plan to deal with Mehndi. No intention to address inequality. Richest 1% own 40% wealth, 50% poorest 64% pay GST, 42% youth unemployed - yet, PM doesn't care!" Rahul Gandhi tweeted on Wednesday.

'Mitra Kaal' is in the budget:
No vision to create jobs
There is no plan to deal with inflation
No intention to remove inequality

1% richest own 40% wealth, 50% poorest pay 64% GST, 42% youth unemployed- yet, PM doesn't care!

This budget proves that the government has no roadmap to build the future of India.

He also said that the budget is proof that the government has no roadmap to build India's future.

Highlights of the Union Budget include raising the tax exemption limit to 7 lakhs, 100% increase in the amount of Senior Citizens Savings Scheme, increase in other small savings schemes and a record increase in capital expenditure in the last ten years.

Apart from Rahul Gandhi, several other Congress leaders criticized the budget for not being inclusive and diverting its attention from the poor, unemployed youth and other deprived sections of the society. Senior Congress leader, P Chidambaram called the budget "disgusting" and said the budget shows how far the government is from the people and their concerns.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is another in the line of politicians criticizing the budget. He called the Union Budget for 2023-24 "big on announcements and short on delivery". Furthermore, he accused the Modi government of making the existence of the common man difficult in the current scenario. He also said that the budget is proof that "people are losing faith in the BJP government".

The Congress president said the budget stood by its expectations of being an election-friendly budget suitable to be presented before the general assembly elections.
