New travel rules for international travelers coming to India from 6 countries: The new rule will come into effect from February 13

Passengers arriving in India from China, 5 other countries will no longer be required to submit pre-departure COVID test report and upload self-health declaration on 'Air Suvidha' portal from February 13.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that the government has taken this decision because there is a huge decline in the cases of Kovid-19 in these countries.

In a letter sent to his counterpart Rajiv Bansal in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Bhushan on Thursday said that his ministry is updating its 'Guidelines for International Arrivals' in view of the decline in coronavirus cases.

However, for surveillance of COVID-19 infection among international travelers in India, the current process of random testing of two per cent of passengers irrespective of their country of origin on arrival in India will continue.
