Madhya Pradesh: Before the election, Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be in Bhopal today to cancel the plans of ministers

 

The budget session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly will begin on February 27 and will continue till March 27, said Narottam Mishra, the state's parliamentary affairs minister.

Ahead of the crucial assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh due in the next few months, state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked his minister to cancel their plans and be in the state capital today. The order was also issued for the ministers who are involved in the ongoing Vikas Yatra to showcase development works in the poll-bound state.

An official in the chief minister's office said the ministers have been called to celebrate the second anniversary of Chouhan's "plant a sapling every day" campaign to save the environment.

“A cabinet meeting will also be held in Bhopal… The Vikas Yatra which began on February 5 and will continue till February 25 [will also be reviewed]. A dinner will also be organized at the chief minister's house," a second official told Hindustan Times.

A minister who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that he has been asked to spend 10 days during the Vikas Yatra to address grievances and lay the foundation stone for development works. "But suddenly, we have been asked to come to Bhopal." Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the BJP's ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Nagpur on Wednesday. His office did not share details of the meeting.

Meanwhile, the budget session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly will begin on February 27 and go on till March 27, said state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra. Mishra, who is also the spokesperson of the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government, said that before the presentation of the state budget for the financial year 2023-24, various issues of public welfare would be discussed.

The Madhya Pradesh Assembly Secretariat informed that there will be a total of 13 sittings during the 29-day session, which will be the 14th sitting of the current assembly. Assembly elections are due in the state later this year.
