Imran Khan's journey from home to office is 5 times the budget of the shelter home

 

The cost of travel of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was ₹131.94 million in 2019, ₹143.55 million in 2020, ₹123.8 million in 2021 and ₹35.14 million from January to March 2022.

Documents show that the cost of Imran Khan's travel from his residence (Banigala) to the Prime Minister's residence is more than five times the total cost of the Paahagaahs (shelter houses), which were introduced as a trademark project to show that How much he cares for the poor. News International newspaper reported.

According to The News International, according to the documents, a total of 39 Ehsaas sanctuaries were set up across the country under the supervision of the Pakistan Betul Mal (PBM). The program primarily focused on quality service delivery to homeless persons, taking care of several aspects including health care, safe/safe living environment, hygienic food, etc. in a respectful manner.

A total of 39 Ehsaas Pahangahs are operational since the inception of the programme. Till March FY 2022, an amount of Rs 183.015 million has been utilized so far. In addition, the PBM procured food vehicles to deliver food to donors. Since inception of the "Ehsaas Koi Bhura Na Soya" program (EKBNS), 40 food vans were functional.

According to official documents, an amount of Rs 161.088 million has been utilized till March FY2022. Imran Khan's commuting from his residence to his office cost the national exchequer Rs 984 million, compared to the expenditure for the welfare of the poor. According to The Express Tribune, after coming to power, the PDM government released the details of Imran Khan's helicopter expenditure.

Documents released by federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb in April 2022 revealed that former prime minister Imran Khan's travel expenses amounted to Rs 472.36 million. Whereas, Rs 511.995 crore was spent on the maintenance of helicopters more than the travel expenses.

According to the documents, Khan's travel expenses from August 2018 to December 2018 were Rs 37.93 million. Similarly, the cost of Khan's travel was Rs 131.94 million in 2019, Rs 143.55 million in 2020, Rs 123.8 million in 2021 and Rs 35.14 million from January to March 2022.

Apart from travel expenses, the budget documents show that the electricity bill of Prime Minister's residence and secretariat was only Rs 149.19 crore in the financial year 2018-19.
