In his address to the Parliament, PM Modi said that the Indian Army has given orders worth crores to HAL and India is now exporting defense equipment as well.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the remarks made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). PM Modi said in his speech that India is emerging as a manufacturing hub and said that HAL has become Asia's largest helicopter manufacturing hub.
In his address to the Parliament, PM Modi said that the Indian Army has placed HAL orders worth crores of rupees and India is now also exporting defense equipment.
"Today, HAL is the largest helicopter manufacturing center in Asia from where many Tejas aircraft are being made. Indian Army's orders worth crores are with HAL. A vibrant defense industry is being created in India today. is also exporting. PM Narendra Modi said.
Rahul Gandhi on 7 February alleged that the Modi government overlooked the capabilities of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
Gandhi said, “Yesterday the Prime Minister said in HAL that we made wrong allegations.
During his Parliament speech, Modi said that the world is looking towards India with hope amid instability in some parts of the world due to the once-in-a-century pandemic and conflicts.
"But some people who are neck deep in frustration refuse to accept India's growth story. They cannot see the achievements of 140 crore Indians," Modi said.
The Prime Minister said that people know that Modi has come to their aid in times of crisis.
"People trust Modi not because of newspaper headlines or TV scenes, but because of my years of dedication in serving the people," he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the helicopter factory by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Tumakuru, Karnataka on February 6. He also unveiled a Light Utility Helicopter which was made at the latest helicopter factory.
“Today, everything from modern assault rifles to tanks, cannons, aircraft carriers for the Navy, helicopters, fighter jets, transport aircraft are being manufactured by India. Compared to the 15 years before 2014, the investment in the aerospace sector has been more than 5 times in just the last 8-9 years," he remarked in a speech.
