'Don't interfere in other's work': CM Kejriwal's latest attack on the Center

Citing a news report on the collegium system of appointment of judges becoming a major bone of contention between the Supreme Court and the Centre, the AAP supremo advised the Modi government not to interfere in the work of others.

In a fresh attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accused the central government of 'fighting with everyone', including states, judges, farmers as well as traders.

Citing a news report on the collegium system of appointment of judges becoming a major flashpoint between the Supreme Court and the Centre, the AAP supremo advised the Modi government not to interfere in the work of others.

Taking to Twitter, Kejriwal said, "Why does the central government fight with everyone? With judges, Supreme Court, state governments, farmers and traders? The country will not progress by fighting with everyone. Do your work and let others do theirs. Don't interfere in other's work.

The AAP government in Delhi is involved in an ongoing battle with the Centre-appointed Lieutenant Governor over several governance and jurisdiction-related matters.

Last month, Kejriwal, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and AAP MLAs, marched to the Raj Niwas over the alleged delay in clearing his government's proposal to send school teachers to Finland for training.

He also accused the Center of using the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which recently used the agency in the liquor scam case in Delhi, to "topple governments and buy legislators", reported PTI.

The Kejriwal government has challenged in the Supreme Court the GNCTD (Amendment) Act giving more powers to the LG in Delhi. The apex court is yet to pronounce its verdict.

Kejriwal on Thursday criticized the GNCTD Amendment Act brought in by the Center in 2021 and hoped that the Supreme Court would declare it unconstitutional, PTI reported.

The constitution and law states that the LG is bound by the aid and advice of the Council of Ministers. This means the files should not go to LG, he said at a press conference.
