Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar urged students on Tuesday to think creatively and develop original answers to the nation's developmental problems. NEW DELHI

Dhankhar mentioned that "we have jumped by 40 positions and this is reflected in research and filling of patents," citing several metrics including the Global Innovation Index.

After opening the "Centre for Innovation" facility at IIT Madras in Chennai, the vice president was speaking to the student body.

Dhankhar praised IIT Madras as "an institution of excellence and one of the top inventive universities in the country" and praised the campus's abundant biodiversity.

The vice president noted that despite the global challenges, India's ascent is unstoppable and that Bharat is a land of opportunity and a popular location for investment.

He emphasised that "when India talks now, the world listens," expressing confidence that India will have the third-largest economy in the world by the turn of the decade.

Dhankhar argued that all schools should have a method for the organised evolution of alumni since they "grow on the shoulders of their alumni." He continued that such an alumni association would establish a unique "think tank" with the power to improve the globe.

The vice president emphasised the importance of citizens in guaranteeing the responsibility of their parliamentary representatives and asked the youth to speak up in favour of responsible behaviour and truthful information sharing in the House.

To "help build an ecosystem so that the sanctity of temples of democracy is not violated," he made a plea to them.

The vice president spent time interacting with students and touring the facilities housing the Centre for Innovation during the occasion. He claimed that the ideas produced by such brilliant brains have the power to transform the country.
