Delhi Metro operations on the Yellow Line will be partially affected for a few hours between Kashmere Gate and Vishwavidyalaya stations today, Sunday due to maintenance work, DMRC officials said.

In an official statement, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said that Gate no. The Central Secretariat Metro Station located on the Violet Line will remain closed from today, February 19, for 5 repairs.

"Due to scheduled track maintenance work between Kashmere Gate and Vishwavidyalaya section of Yellow Line (i.e. HUDA City Center to Samaypur Badli), train services will not be available at two stations falling in this section i.e. Civil Lines and Vidhansabha till 06.30 hrs. a.m. from the commencement of revenue services on 19.02.2023," the statement read.

It further informed that Civil Lines and Vidhansabha metro stations will remain closed till 6.30 am from the start of revenue services, reported PTI.

Connectivity will be provided through free feeder bus service between Kashmere Gate Metro Station and Vishwavidyalaya Metro Stations during this period.

DMRC officials have advised commuters to plan their journey accordingly for today.

It also updated that entry and exit from gate no. Number 5 at Central Secretariat Metro Station will remain closed from February 19 for civil renovation work.

It added, "Passengers may use gate number 1 and 2 for entry/exit."

The station is located in the heart of the national capital and is an interchange facility between the Yellow Line and the Violet Line. Its gate no. 1 was temporarily closed from 10 February for maintenance work.

Meanwhile, India's first indigenous Automatic Train Supervision System (i-ATS) has been developed by a joint team of DMRC and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for operation on the Red Line under the Government of India's 'Make in India' initiative. . and the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative for the Metro Rail Transit System.

DMRC said that i-ATS can be used to operate other rail based systems including Indian Railways. The technology has been developed with the flexibility to work with different signaling vendor's systems with suitable modifications.
