Biotech founder Brian Johnson explains why he shortened his lifespan by 5 years

In a post on Medium, Brian Johnson claimed that he had the heart of a 37-year-old man, the skin of a 28-year-old boy and the lung capacity of an 18-year-old boy.

Brian Johnson, founder and CEO of the biotech firm that recently spent millions to reverse his age through sophisticated technology, is now speaking out about why he had to undergo the drastic change.

According to a Bloomberg report, the tech millionaire spent $2 million a year to transform himself to be 18 again.

“It is possible that, this month, the Blueprint team set a new world record in reversing an aging biomarker: my epigenetic age. Notably, we recently increased my age per unit time from 47 to 42.5 years in seven months. I've seen a major reduction in my multi-epi-clock average. This is a reversal of the six months I've aged per month, without the use of growth hormones," he wrote in his post on Medium.

His firm was running a project called 'Blueprint', aimed at changing the epigenetic constitution of humans, for which Johnson was part of the trials. Johnson claimed in his post that he had the heart of a 37-year-old man, the skin of a 28-year-old boy and the lung capacity of an 18-year-old boy.

Speaking to The Independent, he explained that he was in a "bad state" when he was building his startup 10 years ago. He said that with the pressure of the startup, he was in depression as well as the challenges of being a father to three children.

He said that he was on a self destructive behavior and blamed himself for everything. He said that he used to do well to get relief from stress, due to which he had gained a lot of weight, had lost sleep.

Johnson eventually decided to make a change. Adding further, he then came up with the idea of creating a system that could take care of health better than he did.

She was quoted by The Independent as saying, "I basically took myself out of looking after myself and built a system that looked after me better than myself." For this, he said that he has hired a team of doctors at his Venice. , California, home that worked on all of its body functions. Led by 29-year-old physician Oliver Zolman, the program is supported by a team of more than 30 health experts.

He said that although a lot of the process is painful, he said he honestly likes it. Further explaining the whole process, he said, "I enjoy the discipline. I enjoy what the project demands of me. It demands the ability to bear the pain," he told the daily.

The medical process, which entails following strict regimens for diet and constant medical procedures, can be grueling, but Johnson said she's never been happier, healthier. He also said that the system is helping him to be healthier and happier than himself.
