The highway project was to begin in 2021 and around 21% of the work was completed by January 20. About 20 lakh metric tonnes of solid waste generated within the limits of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and 25 lakh metric tonnes of ash produced by thermal power plants are being used for preparation. Meanwhile, the central government allocated an additional fund of ₹12,600 crore to Gujarat for the construction of roads, bridges and logistics parks in the state. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also reviewed the ongoing works for the upcoming Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway in January.


The fund includes ₹6,000 crore for the development of multi-modal logistics parks in the state and ₹1,000 crore for the construction of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) or Road Under Bridges (RUBs) on roads other than national highways in the state. Said.


He said, "Since we need a huge amount of soil to build highways, I have made a proposal to the Chief Minister of Gujarat that we will dig canals, lakes and ponds in the state free of cost and use that soil for our highways." Will take."
