Meanwhile, ahead of the GIS in Indore, MP Congress chief Kamal Nath asked how many of the 6,500 proposals received in the last 18 years have resulted in actual investment in the state.

We welcome the investors coming to Madhya Pradesh. We welcome the new tradition of trust in the state. But investment comes only when investors have faith in the state. It will not come if you only give speeches, release advertisements and hold media events," he told reporters.

“Such meetings are being held for the last 18 years, during which period 6,500 proposals came up. But we want to know how many of them were actually implemented."

Responding to Nath's allegations, state BJP spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi claimed that ₹1.75 lakh crore was invested in the state during the last six investor meetings, and four lakh job opportunities were created.

The state is determined to grow beyond the current growth rate of 19.76 per cent, he had said, and asked how much investment Nath was able to attract when he was the chief minister.

Meanwhile, Nath, referring to the inconvenience allegedly caused to some participants in the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention, said it was regrettable and "this is not the tradition of Madhya Pradesh".
