Mahua Moitra gave this suggestion to Kunal Kamra to avoid airline ban, criticized for Twitter post

Mahua Moitra was referring to the incident when Kunal Kamra was banned from several airlines after clashing with journalist Arnab Goswami.

Mahua Moitra questioned the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) over Air India's decision to impose a 30-day flying ban on a person accused of urinating on a co-passenger. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader cited a past incident in which comedian Kunal Kamra was banned from flying for six months by several airlines for "hitting" journalist Arnab Goswami.

The TMC MP (MP) said she was "confused" as to how the DGCA works. He wondered why Kamra was given a six-month ban for "interrogating" a co-traveller and another 30-day ban for urinating on a co-traveller.

Kamra criticized Arnab Goswami's journalism and work ethic on the Indigo plane, calling him a "coward". Kamra also described Goswami as 'mentally unstable' in a tweet. A video of the incident went viral on social media, and several airlines, including the then government-run Air India, banned Kamra from flying until further notice.

Moitra was referring to the incident when she advised the stand-up comedian to "change the way next time", apparently alluding to urinating on a co-passenger as it led to a less-severe punishment. The TMC leader's gesture drew a lot of criticism. Many people on social media criticized him for suggesting such a thing.

@DGCAIndia a bit confused about how
Works- @kunalkamra88 gets 6 months ban for questioning co-traveller but another person who urinated on AI co-traveller gets 30 days ban.

Kunal... Maybe switch sides next time? Less is clearly more.

“Certainly this does not give license to Mr Kamra or anyone else to urinate on a woman (or a man/child) and expose themselves. I know madam this is not your intention but it can be assumed," wrote one user.

"Seriously you are suggesting this!! Would you like her to do that to you!" Another wrote, "How can a sitting MP instigate someone to do wrong!!!" came from another.

One user agreed with Moitra's views that the fine was less severe. "So most people who cannot travel beyond 30 days can do so now as the ban is usually only for 30 days, so if someone knows that he is not planning to fly in the next 30 days So they can do such bad things?" User wrote.

Another user eloquently defended Kamra and wondered why the name of the urinating passenger was not made public. “Could there be a big shot traveling in business class and AI saving him? That's why the name has not come. While Kunal's video was played on channels for days," the user wrote.
