COVID-19 Update: With three deaths, the death toll stands at 5,30,705.
India has registered a single-day spike of 265 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country's cumulative Covid-19 tally to 4.46 crore (4,46,78,649), according to Union health ministry data on Sunday .
However, the active cases in India reduced to 2,706. Active cases comprise 0.01 per cent of the total infections. A decrease of 947 has been registered in active COVID-19 cases in a span of 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am said the death toll stood at 5,30,705 with three deaths so far - two in Kerala and one in Karnataka.
The health ministry said the daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.17 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 0.15 per cent.
It said that 1,57,671 Covid tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. According to the Health Ministry website, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.80 per cent.
The number of people who recovered from the infection increased to 4,41,45, 238 while 1.19 per cent of the total infected have succumbed since the outbreak.
According to the website of the ministry, 220.10 crore doses of Kovid vaccine have been given so far in the country under the nationwide vaccination campaign.
India's Covid-19 tally had crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16.
India crossed two crore on May 4, three crore on June 23 last year and four crore on January 25 this year.
