India records 109 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death in last 24 hours

 



India recorded 109 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, taking the number of active cases to 1,842

India reported 109 new COVID-19 cases and one new death, while the active cases in the country stood at 1,842. Meanwhile, the total number of Covid infections in the country has reached 4.46 crore and the total number of deaths due to the disease has reached 5,30,740.

According to data released by the Union Health Ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.07 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.08 per cent, while active Covid cases constitute only 0.01 per cent of the total number of infections.

One death due to the infection was recorded in Gujarat and the country's mortality rate was reported to be 1.19 percent.

The recovery rate has increased to 98.81 per cent and the total number of recoveries has reached 4,41,50,057.

Around 220.4 crore people have been vaccinated against the virus under the vaccination drive.

On 28 January, India reported 93 coronavirus cases, 54 fewer than a day earlier, while registering a daily positivity rate of 0.07 per cent. In terms of cities, Mumbai, which had not seen any new Covid case for 2 days, reported 3 new infections, taking the city's total to 11,55,245 and the number of active cases to 14. The rate of cases was 4,54,916 days.
