Himachal Pradesh: Virbhadra Singh's son gets place in CM Sukhu's cabinet

 


Three-time MLA from Solan assembly constituency Dhani Ram Shandil and Kasumpti MLA Anirudh Singh also took oath.

Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh's son and MLA Vikramaditya Singh took oath as a cabinet minister on Sunday.

The Himachal Pradesh cabinet led by Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was expanded on Sunday by inducting seven ministers. New ministers in the cabinet include MLA Dhani Ram Shandil from Solan, Chander Kumar from Jawli in Kangra district, Harsh Vardhan Chauhan from Shillai in Sirmaur district and Jagat Singh Negi from tribal Kinnaur district.

Those inducted include Rohit Thakur, Anirudh Singh and Vikramaditya Singh from Jubbal-Kotkhai, Kasumpti and Shimla (Rural) respectively.

The swearing-in ceremony of the new members of the Himachal Pradesh cabinet took place on Sunday morning. The ceremony was held at the Raj Bhavan in Shimla.

With this, the cabinet strength in the state has gone up to nine. Chief Minister Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri took oath on 11 December.

Earlier on Saturday, Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the list of 10 people has been submitted to the party high command and the Himachal Pradesh government will soon implement the old pension scheme in the state after the first cabinet meeting.

In the manifesto for the November 12 assembly elections, the Congress had promised to implement the old pension scheme if voted to power.
