Delhi: Many flights delayed due to fog

 



Several flights were delayed due to low visibility due to fog at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday.


Several flights were delayed in Delhi on Tuesday due to low visibility due to fog amid extremely low temperatures.


The ongoing cold wave brought down Delhi's temperature by 1.4 degrees Celsius on Monday. Significantly, this was the coldest temperature in the city in the last 16 years.


People still have to deal with extremely low temperatures for a few more days. The minimum temperature of Delhi is likely to be around 3 degree Celsius from Monday. This is the second round of cold wave in the capital. The first was from January 5 to January 9.


As per the IMD forecast, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir may receive moderate/light rain or snow from January 18.


A Western Disturbance is very likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from January 18 night. Under its influence, isolated light/moderate rain/snow very likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh-Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during January 18-20, 2023."


The Weather Forecasting Agency has said that after January 19, people will get some relief from the cold weather. Till then the whole of North India will have to bear the brunt of the cold wave. On Monday, the minimum temperature in many parts was recorded between one to three degrees Celsius.
