Bajaj Auto sales down 22% at 2,81,486 units in December

 



• According to regulatory filings, total domestic sales rose 2 per cent to 1,48,555 units as compared to 1,45,979 in the same month a year ago.

Bajaj Auto on January 2 reported a 22 per cent decline in total sales at 2,81,486 units sold in December 2022 as compared to 3,62,470 units sold in the same month in December 2021, a year ago.

According to regulatory filings, total domestic sales rose 2 per cent to 1,48,555 units as compared to 1,45,979 in the same month a year ago.

Total exports declined by 39 per cent to 1,32,931 as compared to 2,16,491 last year.

The company sold a total of 2,47,024 two-wheelers (domestic and exports) down 23 percent and 34,462 commercial vehicles (domestic and exports) down 21 percent in December 2022.

Talking about individual sales, the company sold 1,25,525 two-wheelers in December 2022 as compared to 1,27,593 last year which is a decline of 2 percent. The company projects sales of 23,030 commercial vehicles in December 2022 as compared to 18,386 in December 2021, which saw a jump of 25 per cent.

Talking about individual exports, in December this year, the company exported 1,25,525 two-wheelers as against 1,91,176, down 36 percent.

The company exported 11,432 commercial vehicles as compared to 25,315 last year, down 55 per cent.

Talking about the April to December quarter, the company's total sales declined by 8 per cent to 30,67,934 units as compared to 33,31,782 units in the same quarter last year. Total domestic sales grew by 13 per cent at 15,91,399 units as compared to 14,12,652 in the April-December quarter. In the same quarter, total exports fell 23 per cent with 14,76,535 units shipped as compared to 19,19,130.
