Telecom giant Bharti Airtel on Tuesday announced the launch of its 5G service in Indore. Customers with 5G enabled devices will be able to use the Airtel 5G Plus network at no additional cost till the rollout becomes more widespread, the company said in a statement.
According to Airtel, 5G services are currently operational in Vijay Nagar, Rasoma Chowk, Bombay Hospital Square, Radisson Square, Khajrana area, Sadar Bazar, Geeta Bhawan, Panchsheel Nagar, Abhinandan Nagar, Patrakar Colony, Yashwant Road, Phoenix Citadel Mall and a few . other selected locations. Airtel said, "The company will expand its network by making its services available across the city in the coming times."
According to the company, the Airtel 5G Plus service will boost the entire portfolio of services provided by the telco.
Sujay Chakraborty, CEO, Bharti Airtel, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh said, "Airtel customers can now experience ultrafast network and enjoy speeds that are 20-30 times faster than the existing 4G speeds."
"The company is in the process of lighting up the entire city, which will allow customers to enjoy superfast access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting and instant photo uploading," Chakraborty said.
To recall, Bharti Airtel recently launched its 5G services in Jammu and Srinagar. The telco said its '5G Plus' services will be available to customers in a phased manner as the company continues to build out its network and complete the roll out.
The company said that customers with 5G enabled devices will be able to use the Airtel '5G Plus' network at no additional cost, till the roll out becomes more widespread.
