Uttar Pradesh receives investment commitments of ₹20,000 crore from Singapore

During the four-day presentation in Singapore, investors from the country have invested around ₹20,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh in sectors such as data centres, logistics services and education. The investments were made after a four-day presentation by the UP Global Investment Summit (UPGIS) delegation led by Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Flood Control Swatantra Dev Singh that concluded on Monday.

“It was a very successful visit. The G2G (Government to Government) engagement was very warm and fruitful,” said Deepak Kumar, Principal Secretary, Basic Education Department, Uttar Pradesh.

More than ₹7,700 crore worth of MoUs were signed on Monday for investments in semiconductor (FAB), IT parks, agro-processing, skills, waterways and smart cities in UP, according to Chief Executive Officer Noida Authority.

Another great achievement by the Singapore delegation at the UP Global Investor Summit @InvestinUp! About ₹7700 crore more MoUs were signed today in the presence of Hubble Min @swatantrabjp for investment in Semiconductor (Fab), IT Parks, Agro Processing, Skilling, Waterways and Smart Cities in UP.

In addition, the UP government signed 12 financial MoUs with Singapore-based corporations and investors during the December 15-19 visit.

A non-financial MoU was signed with the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) to explore business opportunities and collaborations in Uttar Pradesh.

The delegation visited the Singapore Institute of Technical Education and expressed interest in entering into an MoU to set up a similar education and training institute in UP.

FICCI Director in Singapore Navita M. Maier said the visit also included a CEO roundtable of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry- Enterprise Singapore and a roundtable with the Singapore Business Federation.

FICCI, as an industry partner of UPGIS and the High Commission of India, organized the delegation visits and meetings in Singapore.

The UP Global Investment Summit (UPGIS) delegation, led by Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Flood Control Swatantra Dev Singh, discussed prospects and opportunities for cooperation in their state with Singapore's Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong and Minister for Sustainability and Development.
