He was addressing the congregation of sages and learned elders gathered at Sivagiri Mutt in Kerala to celebrate the Tirthadanam festival on December 30, 2022.

His preaching of "prosperity through industry" is the basis of the Government of India's resolve of "Self-reliant India". Today India is one of the largest economies in the world because of its hard work and enterprise. Today India has joined the top five. economy of the world," Rajnath Singh said.

“It was the foresight of Sree Narayana Guru that he ordered Sivagiri Math to spread awareness among the common people on subjects like education, sanitation etc. Pay special attention to these subjects," he said.

Invoking the Sainik Saint concept, Rajnath Singh said that as the Defense Minister, he is protecting the country's physical borders with the strength of the bravery and valor of the soldiers, similarly the Saint soldiers are protecting the country's culture.

“If we are protecting the body of the country, then you are protecting the soul of this country. And a nation can live till eternity only when both its body and soul are secure. I congratulate you for this."

He said that self-reliance has been an intrinsic part of India's culture. Shri Narayan Guruji conveyed this message of self-reliance to the masses through his teachings and today Sivagiri Math is also working to take it forward continuously. Guruji was not only in favor of modernity, but also maintained a balance between India's ancient culture and modernity, which is relevant even today. Rajnath Singh said that through hard work and enterprise India has been confirmed to be one of the largest economies of the world.

Paying homage to the holy land of Kerala, which has given birth to great sages, philosophers and poets, who not only inculcated high ideals and values in the heart of the common man, but also united the entire country, the Minister said that Acharya Shankar was born in a small village Kaladi, traveled across India and culturally connected the whole country. This in itself was unprecedented.

“The principle of oneness of the whole world propounded by his philosophy of Advaitism is still embedded in the soul of the country which inspires the different sections of the society to remain united and equal. Sree Narayana Guru Ji is undoubtedly one such name in the chain of enriching cultural unity," he said.

Rejecting the criticism that Indian tradition, thought and philosophy is not concerned with equality, freedom and fraternity, which is considered as western concept, Rajnath Singh said that the concept of human equality and fraternity has been prevalent in ancient literature, tradition and thinking. India. Rather, it is more comprehensive and inclusive than the Western one. While the West only talks about equality, liberty and fraternity among human beings, the Indian tradition sees equality, fraternity and unity between human beings and animals in the form of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' i.e. 'The whole world is one family', animate and living beings. between non-conscious beings and indeed the entire world and universe.

"And that is why India was recognized as Vishwaguru in ancient times", he said.

The minister elaborated on the equality and unity of the world, citing various texts and principles from Vedas, Upanishads, Geeta and Ramayana. He apprised the gathering of Acharya Shankar's 'Aditatvaad' which is synonymous with universal equality. Rajnath Singh mentioned that Sree Narayana Guru had given the slogan of "freedom through education" during the freedom struggle.

"It is also found in our ancient observations that knowledge sets man free. Education leads to knowledge, which leads to freedom."
