Telegram introduced self-destructing messages in 2013. According to a Telegram blog post, users can now delete any message sent or received without leaving any trace for both parties. Furthermore, users can also set an auto-delete timer to clear individual chats after a certain amount of time.

“Today we are expanding the control you have over your digital footprint into the future. You can now set a global auto-delete timer to automatically delete messages in all new chats. Existing chats will not be affected, but you can easily increase your auto-delete settings in any of them from the new menu in Settings > Privacy & security > Auto-delete messages," Telegram said in its blog post.

Additionally, Telegram also has built-in topics for groups with more than 100 members. These subject groups can open in an attractive two-column mode. This will allow users to directly switch to the latest theme and save some time.

To recall, Telegram recently cut the monthly subscription fee for its premium users in India. The company has reduced the price from ₹469 to ₹179. According to a report in TechCrunch, the announcement comes in the backdrop of the company attempting to aggressively capitalize on the large user base in one of its biggest markets.

India is one of the biggest markets for Telegram. According to analytics firm data.ai, the platform has garnered over 120 million monthly active users in the country.
