India's inflation may fall to nine-month low in November: Reuters poll

Consumer price inflation in India may ease to a nine-month low of 6.40% in November, mainly due to lower food prices, according to a Reuters poll of economists.

Inflation has remained above the upper end of the Reserve Bank of India's 2%-6% tolerance band throughout the year and has raised interest rates by 225 basis points so far to the repo rate, taking it to 6.25%.

If the inflation forecast is correct, the decline will take it back to where it was just before Russia invaded Ukraine in February, which drove up global food and commodity prices. (Reuters)
