PM Modi's Mann Ki Baat LIVE Updates: Sikkim's Sange Sherpa lauded for environmental protection

 




Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving his last Mann Ki Baat episode for 2022. 


Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the last Mann Ki Baat of the year 2022 on 25 December. The telecast of the 96th edition of the Prime Minister's monthly radio program Mann Ki Baat began at 11 am on Christmas. 


PM Modi had on December 13 invited people to share their inputs for the upcoming episode of Mann Ki Baat to be held on December 25. PM Modi urged people to write in on the NaMo app and MyGov app or record their messages on 1800-11-7800. 


Sharing MyGov's invite, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "The last #MannKiBaat of 2022 will be on 25th of this month. I look forward to receiving your inputs for the programme. I invite you to visit NaMo App, MyGov Request to write or record message on 1800-11-7800." 


PM Modi congratulated everyone on Christmas and remembered former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 98th birthday. He has a special place in the heart of every Indian, he added. 


He also talked about an Indian proverb in Sanskrit which means "Truth needs no proof, what you see needs no proof". However, when it comes to modern medical science, evidence is an important thing. The lack of evidence-based research has always been an issue for India. But now things seem to be changing. 


Modi lauded the Tata Memorial Center in Mumbai for its research, innovation and cancer care. According to a study by the said institution, yoga is highly effective in breast cancer. They said that the inclusion of yoga improved disease-free survival (DFS) by 15% and overall survival (OS) by 14%. 


“We have eliminated diseases like smallpox, polio and guinea worm in India. The next disease that will soon be eradicated is Kala-azar." 


“These parasites are transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected sandfly. Kala-azar patients have fever for months and suffer from anaemia, weakness and weight loss. 


The Prime Minister said that the United Nations (UN) has recognized India's Namami Gange initiative to revive the holy river Ganges as one of the top 10 world restoration flagships for revitalizing the natural world. He said that the project is making a positive impact on bio-diversity. 


PM Modi lauded Sange Sherpa of Sikkim for being engaged in environmental protection at an altitude of over 12,000 feet for the last 14 years. Sangay has taken the lead in cleaning the Tsongmo Lake, which is of cultural and ancient importance. 


The Swachh Bharat Mission has been successful since its launch in 2014, PM Modi said. He explained how the project has been harnessed for optimum utilization of resources due to cleanliness. 


PM Modi talked about Kalari Club Dubai, which in association with Dubai Police, achieved the record for the largest number of people performing Kalaripayattu together as part of UAE's National Day celebrations. One of the oldest still practiced martial arts in India, Kalaripayattu is famous for its long history among Indian fighting styles. 


Modi referred to the art consciousness of Karnataka run by Kavemashree, a hotelier by profession. He said that Kavemashree has dedicated his life for the last 25 years to revive the art and culture of the State.
