PM Modi thanks Biden, world leaders for supporting India's G20 chairmanship

 




Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his gratitude on Twitter to other world leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked his US, France and Japanese counterpart for supporting India as the capital assumed the chairmanship of the G20 on December 1. PM Modi responded to US President Joe Biden's congratulatory message for India.

PM Modi tweeted, "Thank you @POTUS. Your valuable support will be a source of strength for India's G-20 Presidency. It is important that we all work together to build a better planet."

Biden had earlier said that the US supports India and PM Modi during the presidency of the G-20. He also said that India-US will together advance sustainable and inclusive growth by addressing common challenges such as climate, energy and food crises.

The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to other world leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron on Twitter.

"Thank you, my dear friend @EmmanuelMacron! I look forward to consulting closely with you during India's G20 presidency, as we work to focus the world's attention on issues affecting humanity," PM Modi Told.

Responding to Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's congratulatory message, PM Modi tweeted, "Your solidarity is important. Japan has contributed greatly to global welfare and I am sure the world will continue to learn from Japan's successes on various fronts." ,



He also thanked the PM of Spain and said, "Thank you Mr. @sanchezcastejon for your kind actions. Fully support your views on working collectively to mitigate the challenges of the present to leave a better planet for generations to come."

On 1 December, India officially assumed the presidency of the G20 as it is expected to host over 200 preparatory meetings across the country, including in Hyderabad, earlier this month.

The central government will convene an all-party meeting on December 5 to seek suggestions, discuss and finalize strategies for the G-20 summit.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi has invited presidents of around 40 parties for the meeting, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is also likely to attend the meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
