NFT platform Fancrase to launch player cards of four IPL teams

 




Fancrase said that owning these cards will allow fans to connect with their favorite IPL teams in the metaverse and can build up a collection and trade cards.

New Delhi: Web3.0 company Fancrase Software Pvt. Ltd. is all set to launch player cards for four Indian Premier League teams - Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants - for Metaverse.

The company had earlier launched products like Video Moments in Cricket 'ICC Crictos' and 'FanCraze Flash' (on-to-play gaming experience). It said that owning these cards would allow fans to connect with their favorite IPL teams and create a collection and trade cards etc. As part of this launch, Fancrase Company will add Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants to its roster of partners which includes IPL teams Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, International Cricket Council, Asian Cricket Council, Cricket West Indies, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and 30 other players of the game. In March this year, the company had raised $100 million. million in a funding round that was led by private equity and venture capital firm Insight Partners and saw participation from B Capital.

In 2021, it also had a seed round of $17.4 million led by Tiger Global. It saw participation from Coatue, Sequoia India, and Dapper Labs, among others. The firm's CEO Anshum Bhambri said, “We continue to pioneer innovation in sports-based digital collectibles connecting our cricket marketplace. We are excited to partner with the teams to launch the first ever digital collection of Indian cricket." He added that the first edition of the cards will be available for sale this month itself.

The firm was founded in 2001 by Bhambri, Sundar Raman, the founding chief operating officer of IPL, as well as Kushagra Kohli. Fancrase Cricket competes with NFT platform Rerio, which was founded in 2021 by IIT alumni Ankit Wadhwa and Sunny Bhanot, and has other players like Cricket Australia, Hero Caribbean Premier League, Lanka Premier League, Abu Dhabi T10 League, Legends League Cricket has partnered with, among others.
