L&T Construction bags contract for infra works under Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor

 




• The project is part of the Government of India's flagship program of 'Development of Industrial Corridors' under the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust

L&T Construction's Water and Effluent Treatment business has bagged a prestigious order from Tumakuru Industrial Township Limited (TITL) under Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC) and repeat order from Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board (TWAD Board), Govt. Is. of Tamil Nadu, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

TITL's order is to design, build, test, commission, operate and maintain infrastructure works on EPC basis at Tumakuru node in Karnataka. The scope of work included storm water drains, cross drainage structures, potable and recycled water supply systems, sewerage and waste collection networks, power distribution systems including street lighting, 7 MLD water treatment plants, design and construction is included. MLD Sewerage Treatment Plant, 2.5 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant, Service Reservoir and Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) building including operation and maintenance of the entire system for a period of four years.

The project is part of the Government of India's flagship program of 'Development of Industrial Corridors' under the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT), the apex body overseeing the integrated development of all industrial corridors across the country. The program envisages developing land for promotion of industries, residential areas, commercial complexes, logistic hubs etc. covering a total area of 1750 acres. It also includes 80 acres of green cover development at Tumakuru.


Further, TWAD Board orders for providing 'Underground Sewerage Scheme (UGSS)' works in Coimbatore. The scope of work includes house service connections, sewerage network, pumping mains, road restoration works and implementation of pumping and lift stations in Vadavalli, Veerakerlam, Kavundampalayam and Thudiyalur areas to serve a population of around 3 lakhs upon completion.
