Covid: 210 cases of infection registered in India; Active cases further reduced to 4,047

 

As per the Health Ministry data, the COVID-19 tally now stands at 4,46,74,649.


According to the data updated at 8 am, the death toll from the disease has risen to 5,30,654 with one death confirmed in Kerala.


India recorded 210 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, according to data updated on Saturday by the Union health ministry. The decline in cases came a day after the country recorded 249 cases.


The number of active cases in the country declined to 4,047 from 4,228 earlier. With this, the number of Covid-19 in India now stands at 4,46,74,649.


According to the data updated at 8 am, the death toll from the disease has risen to 5,30,654, while Kerala has tallied one death.



Active cases comprise 0.01 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.80 per cent, according to the health ministry's website.



A decrease of 181 has been registered in the number of active COVID-19 cases in a span of 24 hours. The number of people who have recovered from the disease increased to 4,41,39,948, while the fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 percent.


Under the nationwide vaccination campaign, 219.96 crore doses of Kovid vaccine have been given so far in the country.



Meanwhile, the country crossed the critical milestone of two crore cases on May 4, three crore on June 23 last year and four crore on January 25 this year.
