Covid-19 in world LIVE Updates: China's economy is under increasing pressure due to Covid Tsunami

• Coronavirus live updates: Beijing admitted last week that it has become 'impossible' to track the scale of the outbreak following the end of mandatory mass testing.

Random Covid testing of arriving international passengers continued at the Delhi airport for the second day and some passengers have tested positive, according to an official. At the Delhi airport, random coronavirus testing of 455 passengers has been done from 10 am on Saturday to 7 pm on Sunday. Less than half per cent of them are positive cases, said an official at Genstrings Diagnostic Centre.

Meanwhile, China will no longer publish daily figures on Covid-19 cases and deaths, the National Health Commission (NHC) said on Sunday, ending a practice begun in early 2020.

After Beijing abruptly ended its zero-Covid regime earlier this month, cities across China are grappling with rising virus cases, resulting in pharmacy shelves bare and overflowing hospitals and cremation grounds.
