• Recently Nothing CEO Carl Pei shared his 2023 predictions in a thread on the microblogging site Twitter.
optimistic. Healthy. Joyful. These words pretty much sum up one's expectations from 2023. But for the world of technology, the year 2023 means much more than that. We expect to see huge advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their use. Advances in technology can also be expected in areas such as education, healthcare, government services and others.
What if these predictions were made by the CEO of a smartphone company? Wonder what he'll have to say on future technology trends.
Recently, Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing, shared his predictions for 2023 in a thread on the microblogging site Twitter.
To recall, Nothing was founded in 2020. The company introduced its first phone - the Nothing Phone (1) earlier this year.
Here's What the Company's CEO Predicts for 2023
1. At least one AI killer app will emerge (we haven't seen any yet)
2. Tesla becomes just another car brand as traditional car brands catch up
Asked what he meant by 'just another company', Pei said, "The share price will fall to higher levels than other auto brands, focusing on business fundamentals."
3. Twitter does really well because of Elon spending a lot of time on it
True or not, only time will tell. That's all we have to say here.
4. The Metaverse Stays Away From Mass Adoption
According to a Forbes report, the success of the Metaverse is going to depend on the success of augmented reality (AR) technology, which includes chips, batteries, displays and input components that provide immersive and rich experiences.
5. ...but Mark turns things meta by driving a stern ship
Mark Zuckerberg changed the name of Facebook to Meta in October 2021. The year 2022 was a potential 'metaverse' year, but we all saw it not happen.
6. Apple's Shares Soar Because It's a Very High-Quality Business
7. Smartphone becoming stronger as a delivery tool for software and services
8. World governments take strong action against Apple and their anti-consumer practices
9. Companies really try and make money, and hard work is back in vogue
10. Hybrid work will fade away, and companies will choose full remote or full onsite
“Hybrid will not disappear in 2023, but will be less popular than it is today. It has more communication and coordination overhead than full remote or full on-site. During a recession, companies have to do everything they can to increase their chances of survival. All possible efforts need to be made”, he added.
