India will chair the Global Partnership on AI

New Delhi: The Ministry of Electronics and IT on Sunday said that India will chair the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI).

It is a congregation of 25 member states including the US, the UK, the EU, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea and Singapore. India joined the grouping as a founding member in 2020.

The first of its kind, GPAI works to develop a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities around AI by harnessing the experience and diversity of participating countries, aligning the relationship between theory and practice by supporting advanced research and applied activities.
