Gujarat Election: PM Modi will hold election rallies in Saurashtra today

 



PM Modi will visit the Somnath temple to offer prayers this morning, before hosting a marathon of cities in districts including Veraval, Dhorarji, Amreli and Botad.

Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a three-day Gujarat tour, will address rallies in various districts of the state as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) campaign.

According to news agency ANI, PM Modi will visit the Somnath temple to offer prayers this morning, before hosting a marathon of cities in districts including Veraval, Dhorarji, Amreli and Botad.

According to reports, the Prime Minister will hold three rallies in Saurashtra region on November 20, two in South Gujarat and Saurashtra on November 21 and two in Saurashtra on November 22.

Sources quoted by ANI said that more than 1.5 lakh people are expected to participate in these rallies.

Of the 182 assembly seats in the state, 48 are in this region, where polling is to be held in the first phase on December 1.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also hold two public meetings in Tapi and Narmada districts of the state today. He will hold public meetings on Sunday in Nijhar village of Tapi and Dediapada town of Narmada.

In the 2017 assembly elections, Congress won 28 seats in Saurashtra on the basis of the support received by the Patidar movement. While the number of MLAs of Bharatiya Janata Party in this area had reduced from 30 in 2012 to only 19.

The Congress is trying to oust the BJP, which has been in power for over 25 years, in the state.

The BJP has won the Gujarat assembly elections in the state for six consecutive terms since 1995 and is pulling out all stops to continue its winning streak in traditionally bipolar elections associated with the Congress, which has made a common entrance this time. Aam Aadmi Party has added spice.

Polling for 182 seats for the assembly elections will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. The results of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections will be declared on December 8.
