The students were taken to Sonari Civil Hospital for treatment. He was later discharged after recovering.

According to officials, a team of health workers from Batau sub-centre under Patsaku Block Primary Health Center distributed IFA tablets to 75 students of Kheranipathar Lower Primary School and 26 students of Nimaliya Lower Primary School.

As per the PTI report, the IFA tablets were distributed in the presence of teachers and children were advised not to consume them on an empty stomach, officials said.

After some time, the health team received information from the school authorities that two children from each school were complaining of vomiting and abdominal pain.

"They were immediately taken to Sonari Civil Hospital and health intervention was done. Later 48 more children were taken to the hospital for check-up," a source told PTI.

A state health department release said the situation was being closely monitored. IFA tablets are given to children by the government as an iron-folic acid supplement.
