Bali's son Ankush said that his father was suffering from myasthenia gravis

Veteran actor Arun Bali, known for his work in TV show Swabhimaan and blockbuster hit 3 Idiots, died at his residence in suburban Mumbai on Friday morning. He was 79 years old. Bali's son Ankush said that his father was suffering from myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disease caused by circulatory failure between nerves and muscles, for which he was admitted to the hospital earlier this year. Ankush said that his father was responding well to the treatment but he passed away around 4.30 am.
“My father left us. He was suffering from myasthenia gravis. He had mood swings for two-three days. He told the caretaker that he wanted to go to the washroom and after coming out he told him that he wanted to sit and asked him Never got up," he told PTI.
Bali made his acting debut as superstar Shah Rukh Khan's uncle from renowned filmmaker Lekh Tandon's TV show Second Keval and in TV shows such as the period dramas Chanakya, Swabhimaan, Desh Mein Nikla Hoga Chand, Kumkum - Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, and Worked. PoW - Prisoner of War.
Some of his popular movies include Saugandh, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Khalnayak, Satya, Hey Ram, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots, Ready, Barfi, Manmarziyaan, Kedarnath, Samrat Prithviraj and Lal Singh Chaddha.
His last film Alvida, also starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna, released on Friday.
Bali is survived by one son and three daughters.
