 Paytm's annual run rate on loans reaches Rs 34,000 crore in September



One97 Communications, Paytm's parent firm, on Monday posted an annual run rate (ARR) on loan disbursements of around Rs 34,000 crore in September, up nearly 17% from Rs 29,000 crore in August.

As per the data: The total number of loans disbursed by it almost tripled to 92 lakh in the quarter ended September 2022, from 28 lakh a year ago. The value of loans disbursed through Paytm grew nearly six times to Rs 7,313 crore from Rs 1,257 crore in the September 2021 quarter.

The Company's Average Monthly Transaction Users (MTU) for the quarter ended September 2022 grew 39% year-on-year to 7.97 crore.

According to the filing, during the September 2022 quarter, the total merchant gross merchandise value (GMV) - which is the total payment volume processed by merchants - grew 63% year-on-year to Rs 3.18 lakh crore.

Stock Bump: Post the announcement, One97 Communications shares rose nearly 3% to Rs 725.60. The stock had closed at Rs 707.85 on Friday.

Paytm shares have gained 15% so far this month and have gained 42% from its 52-week low of Rs 511 in May 2022.

Yes, but: Listed in November 2021, the stock is still trading two-thirds below the issue price of Rs 2,150.
