According to news agency ANI, a Noida-based businessman, who was wrongly detained by the Abu Dhabi government due to false identity, landed in India in the early hours of Sunday.


The businessman has been identified as Praveen Kumar, a resident of Noida, Uttar Pradesh. He was detained by the Abu Dhabi Police for mistaking him as a criminal they were looking for.


As per ANI report, Praveen Kumar was garlanded at the airport after landing in India from Abu Dhabi, where he was caught by the police by mistake. However, he was later released.


After landing in India today, Praveen Kumar told ANI, "There the CID detained me once at the airport and then let me go, after which they detained me for the second time when I was on my way to departure. was."


They kept me overnight, forced me to believe I was someone else, put me in a holding cell in the morning, took me to a different city, held me and interrogated me again. I want to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for taking prompt action in this matter."


Earlier, after news of Praveen Kumar's detention in a foreign country circulated, Gautam Buddh Nagar DM SL Yathiraj told ANI, "A Praveen Kumar from Habibpur in Gautam Buddh Nagar district was detained at the airport by Abu Dhabi Police. Taken in, as per the information given by the family who had submitted an application for his release. The Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian Embassy and the State Home Ministry were apprised."


He said the authorities later informed the family about Praveen Kumar's release and that he is on his way back to India.


The local police also investigated. The family has now informed us that Praveen Kumar has been released and is on his way back to India. The district administration and the UP government are committed to extend all possible help to all citizens."
