According to a report in Britain's daily Mirror, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle will not spend time with the royal family during the Christmas festivities this year.

The relationship between the royals and Prince Harry is "near rock bottom" after the latest details emerged from the Duke of Sussex's explosive memoir, the report said.

Titled Spare, the book has already sent shock waves through the royals and will release globally on January 10.

In an upcoming book, Prince Harry reportedly delves into the most controversial elements of his royal family. Citing sources, the UK tabloid said that "this book could spell the end of any relationship that Harry wants to have with his family, it is extremely sad".

Last year, 38-year-old Harry and his wife Meghan revealed some surprising truths about the royal family in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. The couple claimed a senior royal made racist remarks about the color of their then-unborn son Archie's skin.

Harry also discussed the "genetic pain" of his childhood and the turbulent relationship with his father and brother.

The Duke of Sussex said an important part of his life was the breakdown of his parents' marriage and the death of his mother, Diana, in a 1997 Paris car accident.

In 1992, Diana collaborated with writer Andrew Morton on her explosive memoir "Diana: Her True Story," in which she detailed her unhappy marriage to the future King Charles III.

Prince Harry is being paid over £36 million to secure a £20 million advance for the three-book deal. The book is told with "raw, unshakeable honesty" by Penguin Random House and "filled with insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief."

The 416-page book will be published in 16 languages, from Dutch to Portuguese. Harry himself — identified by Penguin Random House as "a husband, father, humanitarian, military veteran, mental wellness advocate, and environmentalist" — would describe the audiobook. The cover features a smiling, close-up of Harry dressed in a T-shirt. ,

Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and returned to the U.S. gone. Harry tells Winfrey that his family has cut him off financially and he helps pay for her safety with the money left by his mother. He has launched several initiatives including a Netflix production deal and the non-profit Archwell Foundation.
