Infosys dividend: Rishi Sunak's wife Akshata Murthy to earn ₹64 cr

 


The wife of the new British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is the daughter of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy.

Infosys Dividend: Indian IT major Infosys Limited has declared an interim dividend of ₹16.50 per equity share to its eligible shareholders for the financial year 2022-23. This means that those who hold the record date of Infosys shares i.e. 28 October 2022, will be eligible for payment of interim dividend of ₹16.50 per share.

Since this dividend of Infosys is going to benefit a large number of Infosys shareholders, some of the profits will also go into the pockets of Akshata Murthy, wife of the new British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. As per the shareholding pattern of Infosys for the recently ended September 2022 quarter, Rishi Sunak's wife Akshata Murthy holds 3,89,57,096 shares in Infosys, which is 1.07 per cent of the total paid-up capital of Infosys.

Akshata Murthy's income from Infosys dividend

Since Infosys has declared interim dividend of ₹16.50 per equity share for the financial year 2022-23 and Rishi Sunak's wife Akshata Murthy holds 3,89,57,096 shares of Infosys, her net income from this Infosys dividend is ₹64. ₹27,92,084 or approx ₹64.27 crore.

Infosys Dividend 2022 Record Date Details

Informing the Indian stock market exchanges about the record date for dividend payment, Infosys Limited said, “We wish to inform you that the Board of Directors (“Board”) of Infosys Limited (“Company”) in its meeting Declared an interim dividend of ₹ 16.50/- per equity share. October 28, 2022 has been fixed as the record date for interim dividend and November 10, 2022 as the payment date."



Akshata Murthy, wife of the new British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, is the daughter of Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Indian IT company Infosys and holds a stake in the company. While Sunak is a British citizen, his wife Akshata is an Indian citizen. Her non-domicile status, which allows her to earn money abroad without paying taxes for a period of up to 15 years, has been a divisive issue in the UK.

Akshata Murthy has a Fashion Designing Diploma from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, followed by a short stint at Deloitte and Unilever. She then went on to pursue an MBA at Stanford where she met Rishi Sunak. Both got married in 2009.
