Greater Noida: After the announcement of cleanliness drive, GNIDA flagged off the issue in Tughlapur village
GNIDA said that out of 15 sanitation workers posted in the village, only 11 were present at around 8:15 am. Everyone has been instructed to be present till 6.30 am, attendance is being registered on the spot through a message.
An awareness campaign was also conducted for the students in Sadopur village, in which they were made aware about the problems of single use plastic and awareness was raised about segregation of waste. (file)
In the wake of the cleanliness drive launched by the Greater Noida Authority, officials of the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) highlighted the issues in Tughalpur village of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) Prerna Sharma visited the village and reprimanded the supervisor for the poor condition of cleanliness in the area and also directed to take action against him if encroachment is found in the local marriage hall.
GNIDA said that out of 15 sanitation workers posted in the village, only 11 were present at around 8:15 am. Everyone has been instructed to be present till 6.30 am, attendance is being registered on the spot through a message.
E&Y, the counseling agency was also asked to conduct a survey of the village so as to allocate the sanitation workers and other requirements in proportion to the population of the village. The ACEO also said that if the situation does not improve, a surprise inspection will be conducted later with strict action.

GNIDA CEO Ritu Maheshwari had flagged off the 'Safaigiri Abhiyan' cleanliness drive on October 8, in which it was directed to implement the program in villages and industrial areas as well as in urban areas.
